West Cornwall Golf Club held its Club Championships on Saturday with the main competition being a 36-hole medal. There was an 18-hole medal support competition for those not wanting to play 36 holes.

In the main event, the morning round saw Jamie Cameron lead the way with a net 66, closely followed by Malcolm Edmunds on 67 with Jordan Musitano and Adam Barber both carding net 68. Matt Richards, Tom Maddern and Ollie Naylor all played to their handicaps with net 69’s.

The morning gross scoring was lead by Matt Richards with 68, while Jordan Musitano trailed by 3 on 71 with Malcolm Edmunds 3rd on 72.

The support competition teed off in between rounds and there were three scores of 67 from Nigel Jane, Rob Broadbridge and Dave Perry but it was Steve Sparrow who managed a net 65 who scooped the prize. The lowest gross was 74 from Paul Sandow.

In the afternoon, Cameron again shot below handicap with a nett 68 to total 134. Musitano could only manage 76 for a total of 144. Richards shot 73, Naylor 72 and Barber 76. That left veteran Edmunds as the main contender following Madderns no return and he managed 70 to total 137 (and finish second).

In the scratch event Richards with 72, giving a total of 140 held an unassailable lead but a great afternoon round of 69 from Richard Bunch saw him move into second place with a total of 144.
